Information for Parents
Summer School is an informal and fun week, and no experience is necessary for any of the activities.
However, if your child has had experience in the chosen activities, please provide as much information regarding experience, grades or standards achieved as possible so that your child can be placed in the correct groups.
Please note: there are only limited sessions for circus skills and glass painting, so please include other choices.
Your child can take part in all the activities, or may choose to concentrate on one area throughout the week. The final performance will be a show case to demonstrate some of the work undertaken throughout the Summer School.

- Advanced drama & musical theatre for age 13+
Art
- Themed activities including craft, prop & set design
- Glass painting and ceramics
- Circus Skills,
- Stage make up
- Creative writing
Music
- Choirs and Stage singing
- Percussion, keyboards, guitars and other ensembles
- African Drumming
- Conducting skills (limited sessions)
Summer School Day
Each day will run from 9.30am 'till 3.30pm (children may arrive from 9am each morning) at Kings Road United Reformed Church, 91 Crowstone Road, Westcliff on Sea, SS0 8LH.
Participants will be supervised throughout the day and will be kept on the site at all times unless taken to an alternative venue by a tutor. Students should provide their own food and drink for the day and will also need to provide their own instruments and equipment for each class (except percussion instruments). Details of equipment required will be notified nearer the time. Participants may choose any number of activities, or may if they prefer, choose to concentrate on one subject area.
Public Performance
On Friday 19th August, 7pm at Kings Road United Reformed Church, 91 Crowstone Road, Westcliff on Sea, SS0 8LH., there will be a final performance and display of the work undertaken throughout the week. Tickets for this will be available throughout the week of the Summer School.
Photographs and Publicity
Group photographs of activities and workshops are taken during the week for publicity purposes and will be available for parents at the end of the week. If you do not wish your child / children to appear in any photographs please specify in writing at the time of booking.
